Who I Help

Alright? I'm Farran.

I help Tech Salespeople who are sick of pretending they care about this career, to stop bullshitting themselves, and choose what’s next with conviction.

You've grown to repel your tech sales job.

You feel like you don't "fit". You never truly have.

You want to live the life you spend every day dreaming about when you're stuck on Zoom.

The one where you can wake up everyday, knowing you're doing something you actually give a shit about.

A life where you can go for a walk on a Monday morning with a smile on your face.

Present, fulfilled.

Without the guilt of "being away from your desk".

I believe most coaching being peddled to Tech Salespeople misses the mark completely.

It's either designed to help you "cope with burnout" (thus staying in a career you hate - the easy way out)...

It's too focused on mindset "woo-woo"...

Or it doesn't delve deep enough and is too practical (not helpful long-term).

If this is resonant for you, I know The Misfit Method will help you to get clear on what you want, and move forward with convinction.

Let's explore what that means for you.

Are You a "Misfit"?

You have that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach. The same one you get every Sunday night, ahead of another week in your corporate sales job you've grown to hate. It's that gut wrenching feeling that spills over into that Monday morning alarm. You roll over, pick up your phone and start doom scrolling. Knowing that the second you peel yourself out of your bed, the bullshit commences for another 5 day slog. Sitting through another weekly forecast call - with people speaking in a constant loop of riddles and corporate jargon - “we really need to knuckle down for Q3 guys, it’s life or death here!”. All the while you sit there on Zoom staring into space, dreaming about being literally anywhere but on that call, talking about this, with these people. Or another meeting with "that" customer who makes you want to stick pins in your eyes, or the feeling of dread as you take a deep inhale before another big presentation. All eyes are on you to deliver, to coordinate, to "play quarterback"... And you do deliver - 99% of the time. But do you feel genuinely satisfied afterwards? Or are you just relieved it’s over? That your in depth preparation made you "look good" and like you had your shit together? That you've "got through" another episode of pretending to be someone you're not. You’ve made a career (and good money in the process) from being "always on". From consuming professional development book after book, listening to every podcast under the sun, to meticulous preparation and detail. But what was it all for, really? And I mean if you really pause and check what your gut is telling you, right now? Was it because you were falling over yourself with passion and joy? Sure the first few years or so seemed great - you were young, hungry for money, and this suited you then. But now you’ve made the money, in fact you make more and more each year. But whilst your bank account is filling up, you feel fucking empty. You want something more - you crave more. Just imagine the feeling - when Sunday night just feels like another night. That feeling of dread has been replaced with a steady sense of contentment, knowing that you are spending your days living your life in alignment with your true self. As you can probably tell - I know this feeling all too well. I decided to run towards work, and a life, that serves me. For me, that meant no longer having to put on a corporate identity. No longer pretending to give a shit about a career that I didn't deep down. Where I can spend my days making a real difference, in a way that feels true to who I am. You're here because you know something just isn't working for you anymore. This is why I created The Misfit Method. To help others in tech sales, who feel trapped, or like they "don't fit"... To build a life you're actually excited to get out of bed for in the morning. Remember that?

The Alignment Problem

You devour self help books, podcasts. You start yoga, meditation. You throw yourself into exercise. You fill your Instagram feed with with people who are "doing it right". "Getting through" each week, counting down the hours until Friday, when it feels somewhat bearable. But there’s always that nagging feeling, isn’t there? That none of it is truly "working". That no matter what new habit you adopt - you still spend 99% of your time feeling miserable. And it’s not because you’re broken. It’s not because you’re destined to be miserable your whole life. It’s because the life you’re living, the one you have been living for decades... Was never truly aligned with who you are, or who you want to be. Society has conditioned you to conduct yourself in a certain way. To schmooz your bosses, your customers - all so you fit in.... Like "everyone else". It’s told you that the way to bring yourself more fulfilment is more habits, productivity, resilience. How to "cope" better. How to squeeze more fulfilment out of an existence that feels wrong. But the truth is, you’ve spent so many years now running in a direction that doesn’t serve you, and your body is tired of it. Your nervous system has been wired so tightly in the wrong way, that you are pushing against it. And no - you're not "burnt out". You fell into sales years ago. Likely early 20's... Hungry for money, status. But those stopped being truly driving you years ago. You just haven't stopped to "question" if this is still what you want... For your future. With every year that passes, that feeling in your gut is getting stronger and stronger. And sure - you might manage to keep pretending for another few years... Another decade perhaps... But at what cost? This is why I created The Misfit Method. Not to help people "cope". But to help them to stop living a life that feels like a battle. And move towards a life they're actually excited to wake up to.

The Misfit Method™

You've known a change is needed for a while.

So why haven't you done it?

Typically, it will be one (or multiple) of these:

  • "What if I give this up and the grass isn't greener?"

  • "I don't even know what I'd do instead"

  • "I've got a mortgage, a lifestyle, responsibilities"

  • "What if I'm just being ungrateful?"

The Misfit Method is my simple 3 step coaching framework that helps you navigate these fears.

I built it because I was sick of seeing coaching out there that was too far into mindset work,

without practical ways forward, and vice-versa too.

It's what I needed when I was stuck in tech sales.

It’s for people "like us".

People who have always deep down known we weren’t like everyone else.

Not because we’re weird.

Not because we’re wrong.

It’s a structured way to stop bullshitting yourself, double down on who you are,

and then do something about it.

From surviving - to living the life that you really fucking want to.

One where you wake up everyday, feeling giddy for the first time in years.

Knowing you decided to listen to yourself. That you refused to rot away in "good enough" for a second longer.

Here’s how it works.

The Misalignment Diagnosis

Like any building that lasts, you need to lay some decent foundations. Otherwise you'll keep crumbling.

Outcomes:

  • You'll see exactly where your career has been quietly working against you - and why it's bled into everything else
You'll separate what you actually value from what you've been learnt to chase
You'll name the beliefs that have been running your show - and decide which ones you're done with carrying

The Misfit Blueprint™

You're a Misfit. It's about time you started owning it.

Outcomes:

  • You'll identify the traits that have shown up across your whole life - not just the ones your sales career rewarded

  • You'll understand exactly what you bring that other people can't easily replicate

  • You'll walk away with your own Misfit Blueprint™ - a working hypothesis for what a life or career built entirely around who you are could actually look like

Picture of your energy, career coach

Get your P.E.P Together

Okay - so at this point, you've laid a solid set of foundations.

But until you build on top of them, who fucking cares?

Outcomes:

  • A written Personal Execution Plan with a clear direction, real experiments, and next steps you'll actually take

  • Structure and accountability to build momentum - without needing certainty before you start

  • You'll leave with clarity on who you are, what you want, and how to go after it - and you won't need me for that anymore

FAQs

Why Farran for You

People tend to work with me due to a combination of skills, experiences and character traits.

1. Emotional Experience:

If you're reading this, my story likely resonates with you. Which means I've been where you've been. I get your world, and all of the pressures, doubts, and what that visceral sense of feeling "stuck" is.

2. Practical Experience:

I might have been unhappy doing it, but I was bloody good at what I did.  My approach pulls from many of the skills I developed over my sales career. The only difference here though, my aim is to help you to take accountability for your own happiness and future. I decided to take accountability of my future, I can help you do the same.

3. Character:

Since I was a toddler, I was never one to beat around the bush. Some might even describe me as... direct? This is a large reason I was good at my job, as I had the confidence and assertiveness, to project my 'bias for action' onto others. I will push you to be the most accountable, and the best version of you that you can be.

Why Not  Farran for You

If you're looking for someone to "tell you" what your next move should be, that's not how I work.

You’re driven, and likely a high performer.

I will help you expose why this career feels wrong.

And I will help you to make deliberate changes to craft the future life you actually want to wake up to.

That can mean different outcomes, for everyone.

What’s consistent is I will help you to get out of your own way, stop bullshitting yourself (you are...), and create the life you actually fucking want, and deserve.

------

I'm not here to waste your time, or mine frankly.

I will push you if we work together.

I will help you to challenge your thinking.

I will hold you accountable if I don't think you're pulling your weight.

I will help you to uncover some home truths that even your family and friends won't...

If you are overly sensitive.

If you aren't willing to go all in on this.

Then I'm not the partner for you.

There are lots of other coaches who will take a much more gentle approach.

That may work for them, and it may work for you too. If that's what you're looking for, I suggest you find it.

Who Am I?

Alright again? I'm Farran. I spent over a decade working in Tech Sales as an AE. I'd spent most of my life as an undercover "Misfit".  At school I was always the sensitive one. The one who struggled to make friends. Who was always the "class clown" - trying to make people laugh. I always felt different, that I was a deeper thinker than most. Thought I was weird. Went to uni, like everyone else (dropped out in the end), and did what so many of us do - I fell into tech sales. Now the first 6 or 7 were a blast. Early 20s, first job in London, enjoying my social life, and I was pretty good at it, and so the money soon came too. Bought my first property in London on my own at 25, and continued to "progress" - pay rises, promotions, bonuses. But I was always chasing the next thing. For years I thought this was good old fashioned healthy growth - something to be motivated by. After a few dodgy job moves and a redundancy along the way, I realised it was the same bullshit everywhere I ended up. A good few years of this cycle went on - not knowing the damage I was causing myself. And then, my Dad's cancer came back for a third time, just as I'd landed my latest shiny new sales gig. This would be the last time. Dad died 4 months later. I'd never experienced grief in my life - it hit me like a train. Let me tell you, it certainly makes you reevaluate -  a lot of things.  I was noticing a seismic shift in my mindset. No longer did I want to spend the rest of my life pretending to be someone I wasn't. Pleasing other people. The forced small talk in the office with people you don't want to talk to. The hellish networking events. Endless meetings about "how important Q3 is" or another "engaging" All Hands which make you want to stick pins in your eyeballs. And so I decided to leave it behind. To create real change in my life, by pivoting into something which allowed be to be, well me. I now spend my time with Tech Salespeople who also feel trapped in a career they don’t care about, to stop lying to themselves, and build a life they’re excited to wake up to instead. I needed my Dad's death to spark change within me. I now help others avoid the need for something so catastrophic to create a better life for themselves. Oh and I'm a massive Chelsea fan - guilty.

Time for me to blow my own trumpet.

I came to Farran as I had been feeling something wasn't right in sales for a good few years.

Farran's no bullshit approach ireally helped- and he helped me to really understand what was going on underneath the surface. I don't feel I'd have got from lots of other 'quick win' coaches out there. If you're looking for someone to challenge you and push you, work with him, you won't regret it.

J Bromley (London)

Each session had clear steps and outcomes and I always felt they were worthwhile.  During each of our well organised sessions, he clearly explained the objectives and the techniques we would be using, and this allowed us to explore where the conversations would go, often leading me to making decisions on the next best actions which I guess I had already known, but which had now became clear and more achievable due to Farran's coaching.
